Lions Bay Beach Park Project l Call for Artists

the project

the project

the project

Lions Bay Arts and the Village of Lions Bay are pleased to announce an artistic proposal to enhance the Lions Bay Beach Park Washroom building exterior.

The theme of this project is to capture the essence of our community’s sense of place within our breathtaking natural environment with whimsical imagery that evokes fun for all ages and respects our ecological impact.

the village

the project

the project

Lions Bay is a small, scenic seaside village in British Columbia, nestled between Vancouver and Squamish on the Sea-to-Sky Highway, known for its stunning Howe Sound views, mountain access, and community feel. Named after the iconic Lion's Peaks (Twin Sisters), it is a waterfront residential community with beaches, parks, hiking trails (like the Howe Sound Crest Trail), and a K-3 elementary school. It attracts families and outdoor enthusiasts despite its small size.

our role

the project

our role

Lions Bay Arts (Lions Bay Arts Council Society) was formed out of the belief that the culture of our community is enhanced by our resident artists, their endeavours and our enjoyment and support of them. It has been 15 years since the inception of the Lions Bay Arts Council and we have showcased and integrated arts and culture into the fabric of our Village community.

We are very proud to be the stewards of this community project.

submission requirements

  • Artists must be based in British Columbia;

  • Consideration given to artists who are members of Lions Bay Arts and/or artists on Vancouver’s North Shore and in the Sea to Sky Corridor;

  • Artwork submitted may include original drawings, paintings, photographs, collages and other media.

  • Artwork developed by the selected artist will be photographically digitized and produced on a high quality durable digitally printed weather resistant applique which will be applied to the entire outside of the washroom building.
