--Tracy Richardson
Tracy has been involved in music education for over 25 years, working in various roles, including as a private piano teacher for students aged 7 through adult. She's passionate about creating a supportive, encouraging space where students feel safe to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace. Tracy comes to you as she believes strongly in that students learn better when they are in familiar space and playing on their own instrument. Lessons are private or semi private with families with two or more artists. Her lessons are flexible and personalized—always adapting to each student's needs and goals.
Piano lessons are a safe space. There's no finish line, and no one-size-fits-all approach. Success is defined by each student's growth and joy in making music.
Tracy's own musical journey has been shaped by inspiring mentors who modeled both discipline and joy—an influence she now passes on to her students.
With nearly 50 years of piano experience, Tracy also mentors a monthly group of adult students in collaboration with her mother, who has been a lifelong inspiration. Together, they explore new repertoire and help guide student choices through shared playing and discussion.
Outside of teaching, Tracy is a primary caregiver for her father and spends most days with him. She finds joy walking and hiking with her two dogs—15½-year-old Monty and 1½-year-old Milo—often exploring the trails around Lions Bay. She looks forward to building new connections in the community through music.
